Teak

Sustainably Sourced. Naturally Finished. 100% FSC Certified

Characteristics

Teak wood is a stunning natural material valued for it’s beauty and durability with properties that make it perfect for prolonged outdoor use. Teak is a dense hardwood that contains natural oils that repel water and insects. Teak also resists warping, splintering, and rot, making it ideal for outdoor furniture. Teak furniture requires some special maintenance apart from the occasional cleaning.

Protect

Cover your furniture with our custom fit protective covers when not in use. Furniture and cushions should be clean and dry before covering.

Avoid letting water stand on the surface of furniture and cushions.

To better protect your furniture from stains and watermarks you can apply a protectant like the Golden Care Teak Shield.
This should be done on an annual or bi-annual basis.

Clean

Regular cleaning is a simple but essential step in maintaining your teak furniture’s appearance and durability.

Keep the surfaces clean from dirt and dust by wiping or brushing teak surfaces.

Periodically, you can hose down your teak furniture and clean with a soapy solution of dishwashing soap and water.
All scrubbing should be done with a sponge or gentle scrub brush and done in the direction of the grain.

For tougher stains on the teak, bleach can be added to the soapy solution.

Exposure to moisture over time can raise the wood grain. A light sanding with fine 180 grit+ sandpaper can smooth the surface. All sanding should be done with the grain.

A power washer can be used on the teak furniture. Although we do not recommend doing so because the furniture may be damaged in the process.

Restore Color

New teak Is a beautiful light golden brown color. Overt time, natural teak will gradually change to an aged silvery-gray patina. Exposure to moisture, humidity, and sunshine will make the graying more noticeable sooner. The silvery-gray patina will require less maintenance over time.

To maintain a golden-brown color

Apply the Golden Care teak protector when your furniture arrives. Use a clean, dry, cloth to apply and let air dry. Repeat annually or bi-annually as desired.

To restore a golden-brown color

Use the Golden Care Teak Cleaner to restore your teak close to its original golden-brown color. Use a clean, dry, cloth to apply and let air dry. Repeat annually or bi-annually as desired.

A 1 liter bottle is enough for approximately 1 sofa, 2 chairs, a coffee table, and 2 side tables.

Cushions & Fabrics

Comfortable. Weather Resistant. Life-Proof

Protect

We recommend always covering your furniture & cushions with protective covers when not in use.

Avoid letting water stand on cushions.

Cushions should be removed whenever possible to avoid mold and mildew build-up. Shaded areas and humid climates can increase the possibility of mold and mildew.

Clean
  • Address all spills and stains promptly for best results.
  • Blot, don’t rub, Clean from seam-to-seam & let air dry.
  • Do not use a steamer. Irons should be used on the synthetics setting.
  • Outmore Living cushion covers can be removed and machine washed. Close all zippers, wash on cold, air dry
  • For recommendations by type of spill, see chart.
  • For tougher stains, we recommend the Sunbrella multi-purpose fabric cleaner and Sunbrella Oil Extractor
Restore

Retreating your cushions can help restore them to their original appearance. To do so:

  • Thoroughly clean your cushion fabric
  • Allow fabric to completely air-dry
  • Apply re-treatment product outdoors In a well ventilated area. Follow Instructions on label. We recommend using the Sunbrella Restore Fabric Protector and Repellent.

Power Bar

Durable. Safe. Impossibly Easy.

Protect

The Power Bar can be left outside in the elements for extended periods of time.

However, we recommend bringing Inside when not In use. Prolonged exposure to freezing temperatures can permanently decrease the performance of lithium Ion batteries.

Clean

Wipe down soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth, taking care to avoid moisture getting into openings.

Do not use cleaning products, as this may damage the Power Bar’s UV protective coating.

Abrasive materials may scratch the power bar

Restore

The UV protective coating can wear over time. Regular cleaning and protection from harsh environments will ensure maximum longevity.

Replacement power bars are available for purchase.

Batteries should be recycled or disposed of separately from household waste and according to local environmental laws and guidelines. DO NOT DISPOSE OF IN HOUSEHOLD WASTE.

Liquid Damage

The Power bar is splash and water resistant and was tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of either IPX5 under IEC standard 60529. Splash and water are not permanent conditions and Resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Liquid damage is not covered under warranty. To prevent liquid damage on the Power Bar, avoid the following:

  • Allowing the Power Bar to be submerged for any amount of time in water
  • Exposing the Power Bar to pressurized water or high velocity water, such as from a hose
  • Operating the Power Bar outside the suggested temperature ranges or in extremely humid conditions
  • Dropping the Power Bar or subjecting it to other impacts
  • Disassembling the Power Bar, including removing screws

If your Power Bar has been exposed to liquid, unplug all cables and do not charge your device until it’s completely dry. Using accessories or charging when wet may damage the Power Bar. Allow at least 5 hours before charging or connecting to the mount.

To dry the Power Bar, tap it gently against your hand with the connectors facing down to remove excess liquid. Leave the device in a dry area with sufficient airflow. Placing the device in front of a fan blowing cool air directly into the connectors may help the drying process.

Do not dry your Power Bar using an external heat source or insert a foreign object, such as a cotton swab into any connector.

Best Practices

Using connectors, ports, and buttons.
Never force a connector into a port or apply excessive pressure to a button, because this may cause damage that is not covered under the warranty. If the connector and port don’t join with reasonable ease, they probably don’t match. Check for obstructions and make sure that the connector matches the port and that you have positioned the connector correctly in relation to the port.

Charging Cables

Certain usage patterns can contribute to the fraying or breaking of cables. The included cable, like any other metal wire or cable, is subject to becoming weak or brittle if repeatedly bent in the same spot. Aim for gentle curves instead of angles in the cable. Regularly inspect the cable and connector for any kinks, breaks, bends, or other damage. Should you find any such damage, discontinue use of the cable.
